My life has come down to this: I'm sitting on the couch watching Gilmore Girls. Right now, there's a pregnant woman discussing her dreams about a magic pina colada.

Edit: Now I feel even worse: I just saw a commerical for Bambi II, with what sounds like Patrick Stewart voicing Bambi (all grown up).

One of my old college friends used to say that it was a good idea, from time to time, just for the hell of it, to say, "And so, it has come to this." And he'd do it, to. In the middle of the salad line at the dining hall, or when he was about to roll the dice in our role playing game, or shelling out the bucks for the pizza delivery guy.

So, on the day of my Neophyte ritual, I was sent to meditate in the sweat lodge that used to be in side yard at Turtle Hill, and while I was in there meditating, G was doing some maintenance on the fire circle outside. I'd been fasting, and was a little giddy, and just for the hell of it, said, "And so, it has come to this," in the most portentous voice I could manage. And then had the pleasure of listening to G try not to bust out laughing outside the sweat lodge.
