Typing the word "beauty" into google provides a page with seven links to makeup/salons/hair/fashion, one link to American Beauty the movie, and two links to websites dedicated to using Cascading Style Sheets to make beautiful websites.

Wikipedia initially defines beauty as "the phenomenon of the experience of pleasure, through the perception of balance and proportion of stimulus. It involves the cognition of a balanced form and structure that elicits attraction and appeal towards a person, animal, inanimate object, scene, music, idea, etc." It then goes on to discuss Beauty and Aesthetics, Beauty and the human appearance, theories of beauty, and the effects of beauty in human society. Under theories of beauty, the wiki article discusses the fact that often beauty is described, discussed, deified in female form. It lists Aphrodite, Lakshmi, and Venus as examples. Then it goes on to discuss beauty pageants.
