Maggie Never Sleeps

The most exciting thing today so far:

The two kitties of our house sat together in front of one window for at least half-an-hour. They didn't try to kill each other or hiss or yowl or bat each other on the nose. They just laid there together and watched the birdies.

(Well, ok, so every now and then Kage would take his attention off the birdies to stare at Millie, but he didn't really *do* anything to her. Millie was completely caught up in what was happening outside and didn't notice at all.)

Terribly awfully cute.

Suddenly all sorts of things are wrong with my cat! The other day I noticed that his nose was all raw and bloody, like he'd scraped it or cut it on something. Pat took him to the vet. Turns out he has an upper respiratory infection and he just licked his nose until it bled. He's on amoxacylin for the infection, hopefully it'll help him feel better soon. There were all these little signs that I didn't think about, and now I'm kicking myself. Sneezing more often. Weird little throat noises when he sighs. Lethargy.

Arg!

And, to top it off, we just found a live flea on him. So I have to go right away tomorrow and grab flea meds to put on him. Poor little guy has never had fleas before and I definitely don't want them to get worse.
