Wowsa. I don't know if any of you have been following the whole Oprah-Millionlittlepieces-SmokingGun controversy. I've been vaguely following the whole thing because I like the Smoking Gun. So the story is, this man wrote a book called A Million Little Pieces. Its his "memoir" of his life as a recovering drug addict, and its filled with lots of really sensational crazy details about time spent in jail, gruesome operations, etc. Oprah picked the book for her book club and it shot way up the best sellers list. Smoking Gun pointed out that most of the book was very, very made up (based on research of his life and the things he talks about). Oprah and company stood by the book to the point of absurdity, going on Larry King to make a lot of noise about the Smoking Gun being wrong!

And right now, I turn on the tv, and there's Oprah, live, telling everyone that the book is totally fiction. Wowsa.

Normally I could care less about Oprah or any of this, but wow.
