thumb hats

I've been crocheting spirals (because I'm hoping to crochet them all together into a big hat). But I'm not particularly great at crocheting and I've never really crocheted in a spiral before -- so I'm trying to practice a bit before I use my nice yarn.

My practice circles have all, one by one, turned into what I call "thumb hats" -- tiny curled in domes that fit over your thumb. I have a lot of these little things, in various sizes, and I've been putting them in interesting places on different "heads."

This is my first one -- a tiny hat for my sister's turtle box.
