24 Hours of Horror anyone? Generally I don't run Halloween in July for 24 hours -- 10 or 12 is enough. This is really ambitious. I've only heard about three quarters of these and seen about half. I'm very intrigued.

This Slate article on placebo power discusses the lengths that docs will go to in order to account for the power of good thinking. I post this mostly because I just listened to this Radio Lab show on the placebo affect.

I really really dislike the Boy Scouts -- largely because of their anti-gay policies. So it always warms my heart to see them getting kicked out of another government subsidized building.

I was momentarily shocked by this IFC Blog entry about Ryan Gosling, Peter Jackson, and the Lovely Bones. Peter Jackson? Is making the film version of Lovely Bones? Really? Weird.

My first thought when I heard this story about flu pandemic readiness on WNYC this morning was: mmmm, slow news day? My second thought was: sweet! I'm in the lowest tier for vaccination! Everybody gets vaccinated before me!

(And yes, I get the reasons why -- I just found it funny.)

Okay, here's what you're supposed to do, and try not to spoil the fun! Copy this entire email and paste into a new email that you can send, change all the answers so that they apply to you. Then send this to a whole bunch of people you know, INCLUDING the person that sent it to you.

Some of you may get this several times (that means you have lots of friends).
