* Letting other people pump your gas

* Going to the right in order to turn left

* Gigantic supermarkets with every kind of food inside (from mexican to polish to indian) and prepared food (including sushi bars and boston markets)

* Tiny ethnic grocery stores (like the Russian/Eastern European market we ran into while looking for goodwill)

* Rain, humidity, trees!
